Definition of Quality Assurance (QA) in Education

Harvey defines Quality Assurance In higher education as what “[1] pertains to the collections of policies, procedures, systems and practices internal or external to the organisation; designed to achieve, maintain and enhance quality”. (TQM) is a business management strategy aimed at embedding awareness of quality in all organizational processes. ‘Total’ in TQM implies that it is applied organization wide. ‘Q’ in caps brings in the paradigm of conceptual Quality and ‘M’ is the abbreviation for usual management with attendant functions. All types of organizations viz. manufacturing, education, hospitals, call centers, government, and service industrieshave reportedly deployed TQM., Even NASA space (and their science programs) [1] does not remain insulated.
