Launching of New Academic Programmes:
(a) ab initio Development of curricula of ME (TQEM) a unique programme on total quality engineering and management, and the only engineering post graduate course in the world, from 2009-2011.
(b) Was instrumental for initiating evening shift in educational delivery at PEC
(c) Proponent of programme on ME self supporting basis at PEC
(d) developed syllabus for post Diploma, ME, in Hospital Engineering and MBA (Hospital Systems) on behalf of Institute of Hospital Engineering (offered to/at IGNOU, DTE Haryana, Anamalai Univ)
N.B. ME (TQEM) has been offered and running successfully.

Curriculum Development and Programme initiation – 1st Time:
a) A Design course in Metallurgical Engineering Curricula for the first time now titled “CAMED” (Computer Aided Metallurgical Engineering Design ( offered at PEC since 1982)
b)Instrumental for bringing in TQM and ISO as a course to BE/ MBA programmes in India (workshop & syllabus development) in 1996
c) Curriculum design for MBA in Hospital systems, ME (hospital engineering), Post Diploma ( DTE Haryana), and IGNOU on behalf of Institute of Hospital Engineering (paper: Mehta J C, Thareja P, “India’s skill development mission progress”, IFHE DIGEST, International Federation of Hospital Engineers, Jan 2011)

STANDARD development: ANSI/ISO/ASQ Z1.11- 200X; AMERICAN NATIONAL STANDARD , QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM STANDARDS — , REQUIRMENTS FOR EDUCATION ORGANIZATIONS (American Society for Quality Standards Committee) Member Authors’ group (Published by ASQ press in May 2011).
• Group Member: Improvement of 8 Quality Management Principles (8 QMP’s)

Introducing Innovations in teaching:
(a) Use of Automation in instructions: Proficiency in use of Interactive Board (teaching full semester courses).
(b) Teaching of large classes of say 262 students (e.g. of 230 ME + 32 Ph.D students) Design Of Experiments & Research Methodology (DOE-RM) for 7 years.
(c) Developed the course on CAMED (computer Aided Metallurgical Engineering Design)- a design course for the first time in Metallurgical Engineering Education
(d) Was instrumental in initiating ‘TQM’ as course in degree programmes in engineering, [after having organised a national workshop for teaching of TQM and ISO 9000 to engineering & Management students in 1996 (as organising secretary)].

Introducing Innovations in Examinations:
(a) Innovated & introduced Multichoice –confidence integrated question papers

(iii) Entrepreneurship (GRIP model)
(iv) My core experimentation has helped improve industrial competitiveness, through a model COMpro (Competence Protocol), used by mega consultant “D&B-India”(Dun and Bradley) for Global Manufacturing Competitiveness, financed by DSIR, (GOI) and has facilitated training for compettitude (competence + attitude) at industries.
-Innovated several processes; viz swarf forming process, for resource recycling

Rendering Knowledge Based Advice and Consultancy:
(a) Validation of the Doordarshan Tower (in strategic – defence use) at Amritsar. – fee charged aprox. Rs 7000
(b) Corrosion resistance of bathroom fitting (for Jal- bathroom fitting , conducted as a ME thesis work of Mr. Ram Singh, 2012-13; and under the collaborative responsibility with MIA (Mohali Industries Association)- successfully completed.
(c) Corrosion blackening of Aluminum ACSR conductor as a ME thesis work of Mr. Arshdeep Singh, 2012-13 (Apar Industries, Nalagarh)
(d) Defect Reduction in RDX- TNT castings for TBRL – Implementation of directional solidification to TBRL (Terminal Ballistic Research Centre (in pursuance of MOU with PEC)
